Max Verstappen claimed pole position for Red Bull at the British Grand Prix as McLaren produced a stunning qualifying performance to lockout the second row of the grid. Verstappen set a blistering time of 1:17.700 to secure his seventh pole position of the 2023 season, just ahead of Lando Norris in the McLaren.
Norris produced a stunning lap to qualify second, with teammate Daniel Ricciardo joining him on the second row in third. Carlos Sainz Jr. was fourth for Ferrari, ahead of Sergio Perez in the second Red Bull. Lewis Hamilton was sixth for Mercedes, ahead of Fernando Alonso in the Alpine and Sebastian Vettel in the Aston Martin.
The British Grand Prix is one of the most iconic races on the Formula 1 calendar, and Verstappen will be hoping to convert his pole position into a victory on Sunday.

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen made it five pole positions in a row and seven for the 2023 season so far during Saturdays action-packed qualifying session for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
The Dutchman set a blistering pace in the top-10 shootout to finish 0.334 seconds clear of Ferrari's Carlos Sainz with Sergio Perez third for Red Bull.
Lewis Hamilton could only manage fourth for Mercedes ahead of team-mate George Russell and Fernando Alonso's Alpine.
