This year's World Environment Day campaign places a spotlight on the critical issues of land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience. Under the slogan "Our Land. Our Home. Our Future," the United Nations seeks to raise awareness and galvanize action to protect and restore our planet's vital ecosystems.
Desertification, the degradation of land through human activities and climate change, threatens the livelihoods of millions worldwide. Drought, an extended period of below-average rainfall, exacerbates land degradation and poses significant challenges to food security, water availability, and economic development.
